Baby Johnson has arrived!

Well, true to Johnson form, our little baby arrived yesterday in a much-unexpected way. Even as a newborn she sure knows how to make an entrance!
All along we knew the baby was progressing and our doctor--the amazing Dr. Wroz pictured here--said everything's fine. Her due date was lat week, December 6th, but he scheduled Es to get induced the following week, which was yesterday, if nothing was happening. Nothing happened during that week so yesterday we went to the hospital for 8am so Es could get induced. That went well. We were there for a couple hours and then came home around 11am with the thought that we'd be at the hospital again for 3pm. By 12-noon, however, Es was having a lot of trouble. So we packed up and went back. As soon as Es sat on the bed her water broke. The doctor checked again via ultra-sound and discovered that the baby was in breach presentation. This required an emergency C-section. No wonder Es was having a lot of trouble! The surgery took place shortly after 1pm yesterday and at 1:22pm, Mattea Brielle Johnson was born! She was 7lbs, 11oz and 55cm long and doing well. She's very healthy and very content. She barely cried even when her fumbly father changed her diapers. It was my first time since the 70s! She has a beautiful head of black hair and I can't wait for everyone to meet her. Thanks so much to all of you for your love, your prayers and your support!
