We've officially kicked-off every program in our church: Kid's Club, J.A.M., WithdroL, ALPHA, the Student Cafe and more! Pastor Vern launched us into our new sermon series too. It's interesting how things go from year to year. Let's take the Student Cafe for instance. That's our coffee ministry to the highschool beside us. For the past couple of years itss attendance has been 55-65 students. This year it started off with about 35 students. J.A.M. last year saw between 15-20 students and this year we have 8. I heard that some of our other programs have started off rather "mildly" compared to previous years. I'm not sure why this is but it reminds me of something in ministry: it's not about numbers, it's about honoring God and doing our best with what we're given. Do any of you remember my "personal ecclesioloy" points I posted this Spring? One of them reads: Divinity and humanity work together toward divine purposes. Essentially, we give 100% to what we believe God is calling us to do and we leave the results up to Him. Some of us find different parts of that statement rather hard. Some of us have a hard time giving ourselves 100% to something. Some of us don't really know what God is calling us to do. Some of us have a hard time leaving the rest up to God. It's really a call to work and to wait. We work hard and then we wait for God.
